On June 27 someone on Facebook created a fake event titled, 'Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop Us All.' The "event" is set to take place at 3am on September 20th, and the purpose is to "see them aliens!" There are over 1 million people who are interested in storming Area 51. The person who posted the "event" has posted over and over on that it is a joke and they aren't really going to storm Area 51.
According to the New York Post, the United States Air Force has issued a warning to those who are taking this seriously. United States Air Force spokeswoman Laura McAndrews says, “[Area 51] is an open training range for the US Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces.” McAndrews also said, “The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.” I mean it is Area 51 so is assets code for aliens?
While everyone knows that the Storm Area 51 event is fake, there have been plenty of memes and tweets going around about what's going to happen after the Storm of Area 51!
