How fitting is it that the Ice Castles in New Brighton will be open, and that just so happens to be the same day that Mother Nature will be slapping us with what could be 5-8 inches of snow! But as Minnesotans, we NEVER let a little snow get in the way of our outdoor fun!
With that being said, I am so happy to hear the news that the Ice Castles will open this Friday! The Ice Castle attraction has been held in Stillwater, Eden Prairie, Mall of America, and last year it was held in Excelsior. According to Bring Me The News, the "Ice Castles' team of "professional ice artisans" have grown, harvested and placed up to 10,000 icicles each day to create the structure, which is illuminated by LED lights at night and features tunnels, fountains, slides and crawl spaces."
The location for the Ice Castle attraction is located at Long Lake Regional Park, 1500 Old Highway 8 in New Brighton. With ticket already on sale, these are the prices:
Monday-Thursday:
- Ages 12+ cost $12.99
- Ages 4-11 cost $9.99
- Kids 3 and under get in free
Friday-Sunday:
- Ages 12+ cost $17.99
- Ages 4-11 cost $11.99
- Ages 3 and under get in free
