The St. Paul Saints Will Become The Minnesota Twins Triple-A Affiliate

Looks like we'll just have to travel down I-94 to see the top Twins prospects play!

The announcement will come as soon as today, according to the Star Tribune. The Minnesota Twins will announce that they have reached a deal with the St. Paul Saints as their top Minor League affiliate. The Minnesota Twins parted ways with their Rochester, NY affiliate and that will be the Washington Nationals farm team. Having the St. Paul Saints as the Triple-A affiliate will make it easier for players to rehab and reduce the travel times and costs. Apparently the cost for the Saints to enter affiliated baseball is about 20 million dollars! There's no word yet if the Saints will pay all of it or if the Twins will help out.

As for the players on the the St. Paul Saints, they will be places on other teams across American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.

Over the weekend though Twins Manager Rocco Baldelli had a message for Twins fans and now we know why he was wearing a St. Paul Saints hat.
