It's the end an era.
The Minnesota Wild signed Zach Parise and Ryan Suter as free agents on July 4, 2012. Today July 13, 2021, Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin announced they will be buying out the final four years of of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter contracts, according to NHL.com.
In the article Guerin commented, "Zach and Ryan have been an integral part of the Wild's success over the past nine years and we'll always be grateful for their many contributions. There were numerous factors that entered into the difficult decision to buy out their contracts, but primarily these moves are a continuation of the transformation of our roster aimed at the eventual goal of winning a Stanley Cup."
Parise and Suter will be free to sign with any team they like, except for the Wild.
