You know I thought it was cool when astronauts went into space, but now that it seems like if you have a lot of money it's no big deal if you go to space. After the last year-and-a-half inside, I feel like ALL of America has relevant experience for this job!
NASA is looking to hire four people that are willing to pretend to live on Mars for a full year, according to Huff Post. They posted about the job on Friday, and they're accepting applications until September 17th. If you think you're qualified then thing again because they say the ideal candidate would be 30 to 55, have a master's degree in a STEM field like engineering or math. But, if you don't have that, they'll also accept applications from people with a bachelor's degree and some relevant experience.
The four people who get chosen will live in a 1,700-square-foot enclosed space with no windows for a year. So it's just like being in lockdown all over again! You'll only eat astronaut food, and have limited contact with friends and family online. It's not clear how much it pays, but you can head to NASA's website if you want to apply, you can do that HERE.
