When there’s a benches clearing brawl in baseball, it’s for a good reason. Yesterday afternoon there was a benches clearing brawl in the Angels-Mariners game.
The game started off with the Mariners leadoff hitter being thrown behind. This is a big no-no in baseball and usually is a warning to the opposing hitter or throw them off their hot streak. Well, Mariners outfielder was hit by a pitch in the second inning of, and Winker started a benches-clearing brawl, according to BroBible.
When the dust had settled and slaps and punches ended there were 8 players in all ejected from the game and Jesse Winker was one of them. As he made his way to his dugout he flipped off the Angels. After the game a Mariners fan wanted to reward Winker for standing up for himself and his team by ordering him a pizza. Mariners fan Sofie who goes by @sofieballgame on Twitter tweeted out that she ordered a pizza for Winker and she documented the whole thing via a thread on Twitter.
