I know most of us don’t like the snow, I am one of them. Give me snow the week of Christmas and be done with it. Well turns out the snow is good for us!
Researchers in Poland found walking around in nature while there's snow on the ground can boost your self-esteem, and change how you feel about your body. Researchers had young women go on snowy walks through the woods asked questions about body image before and after and found it really did make a difference.
40 minutes out there gave them a boost in how much they appreciated their own body, and upped their self-esteem. Other studies have found the same thing happens around lakes, rivers, and green spaces like forests. So nature in general is good for self-esteem. But it's the first study to show it happens in cold, snowy conditions too.
