This weekend I headed up north to my friend's cabin. We were about 30 minutes from Walker so our intent was to head into town to meet up with Muss for Eelpout Festival... When we didn't make it into town, we decided to throw our own festival... the first annual Shlangenpout... we ice fished (didn't catch anything), played croquette on the ice, watched gopher hockey, had a bonfire, created our own ice beer luge (I heated a shovel in the fire to carve out the luge path on a giant chunk of ice I broke off a ridge on the lake... very inventive), drank beer, drank beer, and drank more beer.
We watched both Gopher men's games as they played to a series split vs. Wisco!
I also made my way to Ridder Sunday evening to watch the Gopher girls win an exciting 3-2 game over Bemidji in the WCHA quarter finals!
