Rain, Rain, Don't Go Away: Drought Returns, Impacting MN and WI

It's time to talk about a topic we all love to hate: the weather. Remember when we thought we were out of the drought woods? Yeah, not so fast. Turns out, the dry conditions that haunted us earlier this year just couldn't resist making a comeback. It's like they missed us or something. How thoughtful.

According to the latest drought report, more than 65% of Minnesota is now waving the abnormally dry flag.. more than doubling last week's figure. We did get a taste of hope with those thunderstorms that rolled through, gifting some lucky parts of MN up to an inch of rain. Moderate drought conditions are also expanding, affecting areas such as Rock County, Pipestone County, and Nobles County.

Our neighbors across the St. Croix in Wisconsin are feeling the heat too, with over 66% of the state experiencing abnormal dryness. A small portion of Kenosha County is now under a moderate drought. Last year at this time, only 23.16% of Wisconsin had abnormally dry conditions.

As the dry spell persists, it is crucial for residents to conserve water and stay updated on the evolving weather conditions. Let's hope for some much-needed rainfall to continue to alleviate the drought and replenish our thirsty land.
