Alexandra Kay delivered a stunning rendition of an emotional Carrie Underwood ballad in a new video she posted on Thursday (January 30).

Kay, a rising country star who delivered her debut full-length album, All I’ve Ever Known, in October 2023, responded to a commenter’s request for Underwood’s “Temporary Home.” Underwood debuted “Temporary Home” on her 2009 album, Play On. The 13-track project also included “Cowboy Cassanova,” “Mama’s Song,” “Undo It” and more. That album followed Some Hearts — Underwood's debut album after winning American Idol in 2005 — and Carnival Ride.

“This is my temporary home/ It's not where I belong/ Windows in rooms that I'm passin' through/ This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going/ I’m not afraid because I know this is my/ Temporary home”

Kay said “this song crushes me,” as she shared her rendition of “Temporary Home.” Kay gained popularity on social media for covering songs by other country artists while pouring herself an iced coffee. she’s previously covered songs by Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Jo Dee Messina, and recently, caught legendary artist Randy Travis’ attention with her cover of “Deeper Than the Holler.” Watch Kay’s rendition of “Temporary Home” here:
